The Sunday Queue
One person at a time. A handful of yeses a week, and every one of them final. Sunday night the whole thing is deleted.
A dating app built so that you leave it — with someone's number, not with a streak.
Closed pilot in Vancouver. Small on purpose.
How it works
- 1
Wednesday, your introductions arrive
Everyone in Vancouver gets theirs at the same moment. You don't build it and you can't browse it.
- 2
One person at a time
Their whole profile, on one screen — not a photo to swipe. Yes or no. There is no going back, and no skipping ahead to see who else is in there.
- 3
Yes is scarce, and it's final
You only get a few each week. When two people say yes to each other, that's the match — and you both leave the round for the week. One match, then you're done.
- 4
Sunday night, it's deleted
The chat, the messages, all of it. Permanently, on our side too. If you want to keep talking, swap numbers before then. We'll warn you before the clock runs out.
Why the rules are the product
- Nobody can spray. A limited number of final yeses means mass-liking is impossible. Every yes you receive cost the person something real. That's enforced by the database, not by etiquette.
- No unsolicited messages, ever. You're never told who accepted you, and a chat only opens when you've both said yes.
- Contact ends by default. When the week is over it's over. You don't have to block anyone to make someone go away.
- You judge a person, not a photo. One card at a time, everything on it at once, and a decision that costs you something.
What it costs you
- Some weeks you won't match. That's the trade.
- You can't browse, search, filter endlessly, or go back to someone you passed on.
- The conversation really is deleted. We can't recover it for you afterwards, and we won't pretend otherwise.
- It's one city and it's small. If we can't introduce you to enough people, we'd rather make you wait than hand you an empty app.
How we make money
You pay once, when your city opens and you get in. There's no subscription, nothing to renew, and nothing you can buy that gets you a better queue.
The fee isn't really about revenue. Bots, promo accounts and people farming followers all depend on accounts being free to make. Charging once, at the door, makes that whole business uneconomic — and it means someone we remove has to pay again to come back.
Your account stays yours. Step out of the queue for a week or a month and step back in whenever — no new charge. Most dating apps make money by keeping you on them, which means they do best when you don't find anyone. We take one payment at the door and then delete your conversations every week. There's no engagement here to sell.
