The Sunday Queue

Text messages

Last updated 26 August 2026

This page describes the text messages The Sunday Queue sends, how you agree to receive them, and how to stop them. It is here so that anyone — including a carrier reviewing our messaging registration — can read the whole arrangement without creating an account.

What we send

Account notifications only. There is no marketing, no promotional messaging and no bulk sending of any kind. There are exactly three messages:

Message frequency varies: it depends on whether you match in a given week, and most weeks it is nothing at all beyond the one-time code.

How you opt in

Opt-in happens during registration, after you sign in with your email address. It is not a public form, because the number is tied to an account from the moment it is given. The steps are:

What the screen says

This is the exact text shown above the mobile number field, reproduced so it can be compared against our messaging registration:

We’ll text you a code to confirm this number. After that, Sunday Queue uses it for account notifications only — when someone you said yes to says yes back, and a warning before a conversation is deleted. Never marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Stopping them

Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. STOP takes effect immediately and needs no explanation. You can also reply CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, STOPALL or UNSUBSCRIBE — all of them work.

Opting out of texts does not delete your account. We fall back to email for the same three notifications. If you want the account itself gone, that is in your settings and it removes the number too.

Reply START or UNSTOP to turn texts back on.

Cost

We do not charge for text messages. Message and data rates may apply from your own carrier.

Your number

We do not sell your mobile number, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. It goes to the messaging provider that delivers our texts and nowhere else. The full detail — including what we store rather than the number itself — is in our Privacy Policy, alongside our Terms.
