The Sunday Queue is operated by David Nguyen, an individual based in Vancouver, British Columbia. By using it you agree to these terms.
It is currently a closed pilot: pre-launch software, offered free of charge, with a small invited group. Expect rough edges.
You must be 18 or older
You must be at least 18 to use this service, and the information you give us about yourself must be true — your name, your age, and photographs that are actually of you. Misrepresenting who you are is grounds for removal.
How the product works, so nothing is a surprise
- You receive your introductions once a week and see one at a time. You cannot browse ahead or go back.
- Accepting someone is limited and final. You get a small number each week and there is no undo.
- When two people accept each other you match, a private chat opens, and you are both out of the round for that week. One match per week.
- Every conversation is deleted on Sunday night, permanently — except one that has been reported, which we keep for a limited period so it can be reviewed. Exchange contact details before then if you want to keep talking. We warn you before the deadline.
- Unmatching ends the conversation for both people and does not give either of you another match that week.
Conduct
Do not use this service to:
- harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse anyone
- contact anyone under 18
- advertise, solicit, recruit, or promote anything
- send sexually explicit images to someone who has not asked for them
- collect other people’s information, or share it outside the app
You can report anyone you are matched with. Reporting ends the conversation and sends what was said to us for review. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. And if someone deletes their account while a report about them is still being looked at, we keep a scrambled form of their phone number so that number cannot be used to sign up again — deleting an account is not a way to escape a review. Our privacy policy has the detail.
Meeting people in person
⚖️ The point of this service is that you meet someone offline. We do not run background checks, and verifying a phone number does not tell us whether someone is safe. You are meeting a stranger. Meet somewhere public the first time, tell someone where you are going, and leave if you are uncomfortable. You are responsible for your own decisions about who you meet and what happens when you do.
What we do not promise
- That you will match. Some weeks you will not. That is how the product works, not a fault.
- That the service will be available. It is pilot software and may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued.
- That a deleted conversation can be recovered. Once a conversation is deleted it is gone, and we cannot get it back for you. The one exception is a conversation someone reported, which we keep so it can be reviewed — three months after a report is dismissed, two years if it led to a suspension.
⚖️ The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Cost
The pilot is free. If we introduce a fee later, we will tell you clearly before you are ever charged, and you will be able to decline.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time. You can also pause it if you would rather step away without losing it — though not while you are in the middle of a match, which you should end first rather than leave someone mid-conversation, and not while you are suspended or sitting out a cooldown, because pausing is not a way around a moderation decision. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms. If you delete your account, these terms stop applying except for the parts that by their nature continue.
Deleting your account does not delete a report someone made about you, or the record of a decision we took. A reported conversation is kept for the periods described above, whether or not the account it came from still exists.
Governing law, and how to reach us
⚖️ These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there.
